Free Downloadable Checklist!

Greetings and Gigabytes

I know, I know—this time of year is a little chaotic. Between wrapping up projects, tackling holiday to-dos, year-end inventory counts, and planning for the year ahead, it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day. But don’t worry; I’ve got your back! There are a few simple (but super important) ConnectWise year-end procedures to check off your list, and I promise—they’ll make your life so much easier in January.

Tech Task of The Week

I’ve pulled together some best practices that will keep your systems tidy, your team ready, and your 2025 running smoothly. I’m covering everything in a step-by-step checklist below, but here are some of the things to look out for:

  1. Set Up Your Time and Expense Calendars

    • Pro tip: Use one calendar for time entries and a separate one for expenses.

    • Make sure the dates don’t overlap—your system will thank you!

  2. Plan Ahead for Holidays

    • Add your 2025 holiday list into ConnectWise now, so you don’t scramble later.

    • If you already have a list, copy it, tweak the dates, and you’re done. Boom.

  3. Review Work Roles & Rates

    • Your Work Roles and Work Rates are (very likely) outdated. These should be reviewed annually.

    • Got outdated roles nobody uses? Time to retire those.

  4. Update Member Costs

    • If salaries are changing, adjust hourly costs now for accurate reporting later.

    • Not sure where to start? Assign a standard cost by role—it’s easy and keeps things consistent.

  5. Streamline Charge Codes

    • Keep it simple! Too many options mean people just pick the first one, and that’s no good for reporting.
